New Gameplay From Witchfire Shows Magic in Action
A new gameplay from Witchfire has appeared. In it, The Astronauts presents the magic system implemented in the game.
One of the games featured at last night's Future Games Show Spring Showcase 2023 presentation was Witchfire by The Astronauts. A new trailer revealed a glimpse of the magic system in the dark FPS..
From the video and the developer's commentary, we learned that spells in Witchfire will be divided into light and heavy - differing in the time it takes to cast them and the amount of the hero's stamina used.
In addition, a classification of spells by elements has been introduced, each of which is to be characterized by different properties (e.g. enemies set on fire will receive increased damage). The different characteristics of individual spells can be combined with each other, which will allow for constructing complex combos based on a variety of charms.
The magic system in Witchfire presents itself quite interestingly. It remains to be hoped that in combination with the firearms mechanics presented last month, it will prove to be a system that is consistent and satisfying to use.
Witchfire should appear later this year on Epic Games Store's early access. The exact release date has not yet been announced. The new game by The Astronauts was announced exclusively for PC.
