Xbox Series S Confirmed

The fan managed to buy a controller for the Xbox Series X console. Thanks to the instructions attached to it, we know that the cheaper and weaker version of the platform will be called Xbox Series S.

For a long time there were rumors that apart from Xbox Series X, Microsoft is preparing a weaker and cheaper version of the console. Now these speculations have been confirmed by Twitter user Zak S, who managed to buy a controller for company's next-gen hardware.

The controller is accompanied by an instruction, in which we can read that the pad is compatible with both Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S. The latter is probably the weaker version of Microsoft's next-gen, which until now operated under the code name Lockheart.

It should be added that rumors that the weaker model will be called Xbox Series S have been circulating for some time. The instruction is therefore a confirmation of previous speculations.

Zak S also provided a photo comparing the device with the model for Xbox One. The differences are small and no player will have problems with switching to the new model.

Let us recall that according to the rumors, Xbox Series S will cost about 250-300 dollars. Compared to XSX, it will have less RAM (10 instead of 16 GB, of which there will be 7.5 and 13.5 GB respectively) and a weaker GPU. The processor will be the same on both models.

Xbox Series S is designed to offer fun in 1080p resolution and can be an interesting alternative for those who don't have 4K TVs. According to reports, devkits are reported to offer the option to enable Lockheart mode, which reduces performance to the level offered by the Xbox Series S, making it easier for developers to work.

We should not wait long for official confirmation of all this information. The weaker version of the console is expected to be revealed later this month.
