Monster Level
Each legendary monster has a 3 difficulty level. They are easily recognizable by being one of the few monsters with 3 skulls above their heads. You have to be well-prepared when facing these monsters. It's not worth throwing yourself in at the deep end. You need to choose the right equipment, bombs, oils and potions.
Monsters on the map

You can see the entire map when you click the icon located in the lower left corner. Once it is highlighted, you will see the surrounding area, monsters, and mission objectives.

On this map you can switch between three categories of monsters:
- common,
- rare,
- legendary.

You can get the Falcon potion - it increases the range of the witcher's senses. The effect of this elixir lasts for 30 minutes.
Time of day

Some monsters appear at a specific time of day. You should pay attention to this.
At night you will encounter:
- Dung Shaelmaar
- Hym
- Katakan
- Penitent
During the day you will encounter:
- Archgriffin
- Copper Wyvern
- Erynia
- Ice Troll
- Tarry Chort
Weather

On rainy days, you can encounter more monsters on the streets. Some types are more likely to appear when it's raining.
When its raining, you will encounter:
- Water Devil
- Dung Shaelmaar
- Ice Elemental
- Swamp Hag
- Ice Giant
- Ice Troll
Terrain
It is worth remembering that some monsters live in specific areas. Some love forests, others lakes, rivers and swamps. Quite a few of the legendary creatures live far from humans. It will be hard to encounter them in downtown.
In the green areas you will meet:
- Ancient Leshen

- Tarry Chort
In the wetlands you will find:
- Ice Elemental
- Ice Giant
- Swamp Hag
- Water Devil
Far from people you will encounter:
