12 Studios That Seem to Be Making the Same Games, But We Love Them Anyway

It takes skill to copy. Some game creators know this, regularly serving the fans similar titles. Their elements, however, are skillfully mixed and served in such a way that players – instead of complaining – are delighted and ask for more.

Mexico is lovely, but Australia from part three wasn't half bad either.

When the first Forza Horizon was released in 2012, no one expected that this side-series series would become as – or perhaps even more – popular than the main series. Meanwhile, within a decade, we saw five hits and I bet dollars to donuts that it will not end there, and that Playground Games already has a plan where to locate the action of the next car festival.

It seems equally likely that the next installment of the series will not differ too much from what we experienced in parts four and five. Because it doesn't really have to – fans of racing games realize that they are being served the "reheated chop (of the year)." Nevertheless, whether in Great Britain or Mexico, we are having a great time. The openness and crazy approach to racing seen in Test Drive Unlimited make Forza Horizon so unique that it's in a class of its own – even if the car roster is reused quite often.

It's even more important to note that the Kylotonn team, which is working on Test Drive Unlimited: Solar Crown, will try to dethrone Playground Games studio this year. If TDU3 proves to be sufficiently different, less derivative than the last Horizons, malcontents complaining that part 5 was just the 4's DLC will gain a strong argument to support their claims. However, if the new Test Drive doesn't meet the expectations of fans, Forza will only strengthen its leadership, and the next festival will become even more likely.
