What are we talking about here?

Paragon is a MOBA game, in which players observed the action from the third-person perspective. The production was developed by Epic Games studio. During the game, players had the opportunity to take part in team fights by playing heroes with unique abilities. The game did not differ from the classic MOBA games - the map was divided into three lines and slightly more extensive areas between them, and the goal of each team was to reach the enemy base and destroy it (which was done mainly by consistently defeating enemies and destroying the towers standing on the paths). The clashes had arcade vibe, and the most important was to hit the opponents with attacks and skills, as well as avoiding hostile attacks. Paragon never came out of the open beta test phase.

What went wrong?

The failure of Paragon is mainly due to the success of another game by the same studio - Fortnite: Battle Royale released in 2017 . However, this is not as black and white as it may seem at first sight. Yes, the huge success of Fortnite made the creators decide to shift a large part of their capacity to this title, although Paragon has had other problemsfor some time. At one point, the communication between the creators and the players was severely impaired, which resulted in uninteresting changes. According to many users, the progression system was not user-friendly, which blocked the influx of new players who quickly bounced back from the production, and thus lost the enthusiasm to develop their work. This, as well as the strong competition on the MOBA market and Fortnite's success, made the developers decide that it would be better to abandon Paragon completely.

WHERE DID PARAGON WIND UP?

In late January 2018, Epic Games announced that Paragon servers will close on April 26th of the same year. Interestingly, it was decided to allow players to recover the money spent on the title, as well as to make the game assets available to other developers.
