In recent years, the top-of-the-line AAA games have grown a lot in size. The shorter ones, which can be completed in a few evenings, are fortunately not yet lost. At least a dozen have appeared this year – and they're all here!

Scorn turned out to be quite a surprise for some, unfortunately, in a negative way. Misleading marketing was to blame, which supposedly had people convinced that it would be an FPS. Ebb Software, on the other hand, provided a very atmospheric, science-fiction horror game with delightful artistic direction, in which exploration and puzzle solving played a key role. It's important to be aware of this so you don't get that negative surprise. If, on the other hand, you fancy a concept like this, you will surely have some fun. Especially if you value the output of the late HR Giger, or Lovecraft.
Although Scorn is not a typical action game, there's no shortage of elements of action. The protagonist gains new skills and weapons as the story progresses. Sometimes we have to put up a fight, but these instances are rare and limited by scarce ammunition. It's also important that killing isn't necessary. The game is worth giving a chance, because there aren't many similar games out there. Here, you have to figure everything out on your own, nothing is handed out to you – as you can see, the authors have tried to defy modern trends. That alone can be a powerful incentive for some.
