Loot as much as you can...

Cyberpunk 2077 is an RPG through and through, but when it comes to open combat, it's hard to get rid of associations with typical looter-shooters like Borderlands. And not only because shooting is more arcade than realistic, resulting in bullet-sponge enemies; they're also full of loot! You will find plenty of weapons or useful components, but it is worth collecting even complete junk, because it weights almost nothing at all, which, paired with considerable lifting capacity of the character, lets you carry a lot of stuff.

People of Night City have likely gotten used to thieves, since you can take whatever you see in shops, nightclubs, and on the streets. NPCs will usually do not mind, and it is better to have the full inventory than empty.

SAFES EVERYWHERE

Although most of the loot is scattered in the corners or in the pockets of the enemies, almost every location holds safes stuffed with items. Look out for them and open them up. You won't be short on money.

...and then sell it!

The only reason you should care about looting places and corpses thoroughly is so you can sell it all after the mission. The vendors and vending machines are very generous and will even pay for the usual rubbish. Don't worry about having to carry too much stuff across the city: there's plenty of places where you can let the stuff go. Nobody in the city turns their nose to money, and since you're 20k in arrears since the very beginning – you shouldn't either. You know, you'll have you pay it.

He currently edits and writes articles and features. A long-time enthusiast of the most bizarre indie games and arthouse cinema. He idolizes surrealism and postmodernism. He appreciates the power of absurdity. Which is probably why he also tried soccer refereeing for 2 years (with so-so results). He tends to over-philosophize, so watch out.
