Figure out hacking!

The scan mode allows you to hack and plan your next moves.

Netrunners don't have it easy

Hacking is definitely among the most cyberpunk activities in the game and it is quite important as an interesting alternative to typical combat, or a valuable, complementary element thereof. However, it is not as complicated as it seems at first. The game lists particular skills and the amount of memory they require – you can think about it like about mana, and the thing should become much clearer.

At first, hacking may seem a bit mundane – there aren't many skills available, and you mostly have to limit yourself to blinding enemies or distracting them. Over time, however, we will receive more and more programs called demons, which will make it more interesting. We particularly recommend the one you receive in one of the first T-Bug side missions – it will allow you to detect all opponents in a certain area.

We also want to draw your attention to an element of hacking that has been discussed in the tutorial, but which is quite easy to miss – one of our editors actually completed the game without knowing about this functionality, so... It's about tagging your opponents in the scan mode – just focus on them, then click the middle mouse button (or L3 on the pad) and you're set. From now on, the contours of the opponent's body will be visible even through walls.

Then he interpreted Iranian dramas and the Joker, writing for cinematography journal, which, sadly, no longer exists. His writing credentials include a degree in film studies, but his thesis was strictly devoted to video games. He has been writing for Gamepressure since March 2020, first writing a lot about movies, then in the newsroom, and eventually, he became a specialist in everything. He currently edits and writes articles and features. A long-time enthusiast of the most bizarre indie games and arthouse cinema. He idolizes surrealism and postmodernism. He appreciates the power of absurdity. Which is probably why he also tried soccer refereeing for 2 years (with so-so results). He tends to over-philosophize, so watch out.
