Dark Horses of 2020 - The Best Upcoming Small Games

Table of Contents

Hades: Battle Out of Hell

  1. Platforms: PC
  2. Genre: dungeon crawler, roguelike
  3. Developer: Supergiant Games

Another game using the Greek mythology, but this time it's the production of the creators of the magnificent Bastion or Pyre. As the son of Hades himself, we're trying to get out of the mythological hell and get to Olympus – against the will of the father, obviously. Maps are generated randomly, so that monotony won't creep in, especially since the battles are difficult, sometimes forcing you to repeat. As always, we can count on a beautiful and refined graphics.

Hades: Battle Out of Hell is in some ways a bit of a stretch as a 2020 release, since it has been already available in Early Access for more than a year now. The developers have taken a game-service formula and are constantly adding new content and improvements. However, the official release of the ultimate version of the game will come in 2020. This is a combination of all the greatest achievements of Supergiant Games – dynamic gameplay hails from Bastion, the plot in the style of Pyre and climate evocative of Transistor. And if someone still doubts whether Hades is worth it, just take a look at Steam reviews – overwhelmingly positive!

It's for you if:

  1. you enjoyed previous Supergiant Games creations;
  2. you like dungeons and roguelikes;
  3. you like Greek mythology;

  1. Read more about Hades: Battle Out of Hell
