7 Fresh RPGs That Are Worth Your While

It's a great time of the year to play an RPG! And do you know that recently a few great titles in this genre have been released? Coincidence? I don't think so! That's why today, I'm taking you on a short journey through the RPG genre.

Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous

Back to big games. Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous is probably the most substantial offering on the list. Is it the best? This title sells really well and earns high scores, both from reviewers and regular players, so it has to be more than just riding the wave of the success of 2018's original. Especially since the developers clearly know what they're doing, as good fantasy RPGs are currently in short supply. And while Wrath of the Righteous doesn't offer the single protagonist and TPP view that I particularly appreciate in this genre, the well-designed character development system and engaging story more than make up for those shortcomings.

I'm not going to summarize the plot – besides just saying it's not a direct continuation of the story from part one. Take interest especially if you like darker games, as the sequel takes us, among other instances, to the demon-infested wasteland, or underworld of the Abyss. As we participate in the conflict between good and evil, we can follow several paths, among them Aeon, Lich, or Trickster. There's no shortage of moral choices and real-time battles (with active pause). On top of that, there are multiple character classes, as well as elements of strategy that neatly align with the story. Not surprisingly, Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous can yields over a hundred hours of gameplay. So, got a minute?

Play Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous, if:

  1. You need a time-sinker;
  2. You like story and gameplay-driven RPGs;
  3. You want a good, fantasy game.
