Video Game Releases - February 2022. Editor's Choice

January launched the new year in style, but February may turn out to be its most important month! We haven't seen such an accumulation of big releases in a long time.

Table of Contents

You cannot even imagine how much fun I had describing the release schedule of February. This is the first month in a long, long time that actually looks exciting. And on top of that, February offers not only some interesting indie games, but also many AAAs. Among the releases, there's at least one certain Game of the Year candidate. Indeed, it may turn out otherwise, but it does seem so on paper that February will be the best month of 2022 release-wise. This prospect is somewhat unsettling, but let me be wrong!

Dying Light 2 brings back the living dead

The month of fantastic releases will be inaugurated by Techland, of course, with Dying Light 2. If you don't know the original, it's definitely worth catching up, especially since it costs peanuts. The sequel, however, will not require the knowledge of the original – Dying Light 2 is a standalone story. Zombies will return, but on a global scale, as the virus has spread across the entire world. We will play a pilgrim carrying packages between the last bastions of humans.

...but it's also going to be about crazy parkour and big decisions!

As you can guess, we will quickly get involved in a conflict of factions that will make our lives even more varied. This game wants to make sure our decisions carry significance in terms of story and setting. There also will be some spectacular, advanced, FPP parkour that will allow us to flee the hordes of the living dead, but we'll also be able to engage them in combat. It will be even more dynamic, but also more difficult, as the opponents are sporting an improved artificial intelligence. This, in turn, will affect us especially at night, when real monsters will crawl out onto the streets.
