The Best Video Games Coming in 2023 - Editors' Choice

While still finishing this year's scarce hits, we are already looking ahead to next year's potential blockbusters. Already the first quarter of 2023 should bring quite a few of them – so here's a ranking of the most anticipated games by Gamepressure.

Table of Contents

5. Diablo 4

Diablo 4, Blizzard Entertainment, 2023

  1. Genre: hack'n'slash
  2. Release date: June 6, 2023
  3. Developer: Blizzard Entertainment
  4. Platforms: PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X & S, Xbox One

Probably only by some hellish coincidence, Diablo 4 didn't land fourth place, but only a spot lower. However, regardless of its position, it will still be one of the most anticipated titles and also one that will probably provide a huge amount of time compared to other games. The fourth part will take us back to the Sanctuary, so that we can again massacre hordes of hellish spawns, this time under the leadership of the demonic Lilith. The game is to be a combination of the best features of the parts two and three, including the restoration of a much darker atmosphere of the whole adventure.

A big novelty will be the transfer of the game to a fully open world, which will translate into a greater dose of unconstrained exploration. The extensive dialogues and choices to make will also be important. Diablo 4 is generally to offer a mix of new elements with improvements to already known solutions and mechanics. Everything should be prepared so as not to disappoint the fans and immediately interest newcomers. Crossplay and an online mode similar to the one from Path of Exile will help with this. This will certainly be one of the most important releases of the coming year.
