An enhanced port of Mario Kart 8 developed for Nintendo Switch. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe reprises a lot of elements known from the two previous installments of the series, such as motorcycles, gliders, the ability to perform somersaults, or underwater racing. However, the developers introduced an interesting novelty – anti-gravity racing, in which we can stick to walls or even to the ceiling. The game doesn’t contain a story-driven single player campaign – we focus on taking part in a series of competitions in which we can race against AI-controlled opponents, as well as other players. Mario Kart 8 contains several multiplayer variants, including online as well as local game modes (split-screen, or a wireless mode for up to eight players). The new edition contains all of the content present in the original game, including released add-ons, at the same introducing new tracks and characters, such as Inkling Girl, Inkling Boy, King Boo, Dry Bones, or Bowser Jr.

A third main entry in the popular jRPG series, started in 2002 on PlayStation 2 console. The production, developed by Square-Enix, is a closing act of the story taking place in a unique fantasy universe, which combines the worlds of several movies and TV dramas created by Disney with the Final Fantasy series. The main characters are Sora, Riku, and Kairi from the previous games, along with well-known Disney characters like Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, or Goofy. We witness the final face-off between light and dark, the latter embodied by an organization named XIII, led by master Xehanort. While the visuals have been significantly enhanced, Kingdom Hearts III employs the mechanics and fighting system known from its predecessors. We observe the game’s world from third-person perspective, while during the real-time battles we can count on the support from our two allies, each with a unique set of skills.

The authors emphasize the user-friendliness of gameplay and control system, making the game accessible even for inexperienced players.

Dissidia Final Fantasy NT doesn’t feature a dedicated, complex story mode, but the duels have a narrative, illustrated with cutscenes and dialogues. As for the mechanics, the title is a three-dimensional fighting game. Two three-person teams face each other on small arenas. The players can choose from more than 20 characters divided into four classes. Various classes feature different skills and serve different roles on the battlefield. The objective of the game is to eliminate the opponents by reducing their health to zero. After winning, the players receive experience points and money that enable them to unlock new weapons, skills and character skins.

In terms of mechanics, the game borrows several solutions from the previous titles, such as underwater races or performing airborne stunts to gain points, and offers vehicles like motorcycles and gliders. Aside from well known boxes with various power-ups, racing tracks are filled with coins known from Super Mario Kart. One of the most important innovations are anti-gravity races, during which we can drive on walls and even ceilings. This is completed by traditional multiplayer modes, which allow for online or split-screen competition with other players.

It is the second installment in a jRPG series - Project X Zone, published in 2012, in which players lead a team of characters from several popular franchises created by SEGA, Capcom, and Namco Bandai, including Resident Evil, Tekken, Megaman X, Devil May Cry, and Sakura Wars. The story features a fictional world combining token locations and buildings from the aforementioned games. Furthermore, players have a few hundreds unique characters at their disposal, ready to be added to the team. The gameplay is divided into two segments – the first one is presented in an isometric view and involves world exploration aimed at searching for suitable items and characters, it employs a turn-based system and each move on the world map requires a particular number of action points. When facing an opponent, however, the player is taken to a battlefield to control two characters and summon a third one to perform a special attack.

You play as the eponymous twelve-years-old boy, who finds himself in an alternative reality and becomes the protagonist of his own game. He's accompanied by an old living console called Dusty. The game utilizes a side view perspective and the gameplay focuses on traversing seven varied worlds and fighting encountered enemies. During combat you use a wide range of firearms. IN addition, you can visit the Pixelverse, which features different mechanics. The game features pleasant cartoonish visuals and an electronic soundtrack composed by Andrew Hulshult.

The iconic heroes of both series (Mario, Luigi, Yoshi, Peach and four Rabbids) take part in our adventure. Gameplay is based on three elements: exploration, quests, and combat. We will explore four diverse worlds filled with secrets and riddles that await to be discovered and solved. Venturing through the game’s world takes place in real-time, but combat is turn-based. We use a wide array of modifiable weapons when in combat. In order to be victorious in battle, we have to skillfully use our hero’s special abilities, think strategically and act tactically, i.e. making a good use of the game’s destructible environment.
