Donkey Kong: Bananza is a 3D platformer with a third person camera. The game allows us to play as the titular protagonist, using his enormous strength to defeat enemies and to overcome obstacles. This time we end up in the underworld with a task of finding valuable Golden Bananas.
Donkey Kong: Bananza is a 3D platforming game in which we play as the titular gorilla. The game was developed and released by Nintendo, the company overseeing the brand.
In Donkey Kong: Bananza we watch the action from a third-person perspective (TPP). During the game, we explore locations, jump on platforms and swing over abysses, but also avoid traps and terrain obstacles, and make use of the main character's strength.
The protagonist uses the power of his mighty arms both for fighting opponents and during exploration. Donkey Kong can destroy destructible elements of the environment, causing real chaos around him, as well as gaining access to new areas.
In Donkey Kong: Bananza our gorilla ventures into the Underground World, which is rich in Golden Bananas. When valuable fruits fall prey to a mysterious group known as VoidCo, the protagonist steps into action, and his goal becomes to recover them before it's too late.
The graphic design of Donkey Kong: Bananza was maintained in the cartoon style characteristic of the series.

Throughout Bananza, Pauline is a constant source of exuberance and curiosity, with her songs eventually serving the mechanical purpose of allowing DK to transform into even more powerful mythological animals. Their growing friendship is the lifeblood of Bonanza—not just a reason to keep going, but a reason to slow down, enjoy the world, play around in it, and adore seeing its never-ending cavalcade of sights through the eyes of a kid who’s having the time of her life.

Donkey Kong Bananza is a confident subversion of the 3D platformer.

Donkey Kong Bananza should be called Donkey Kong Odyssey because the amount of similarities with Super Mario Odyssey is astounding! In addition to how great the formula already was there were some smart additions. Harnessing Donkey Kong's movement and destruction opens up a whole new experience that breeds curiosity and creativity. It might not reach the same heights as Super Mario Odyssey and it unfortunately retains some of the shortcomings, but Donkey Kong Bananza is an experience unlike anything else. When the credits finally rolled, I wasn’t upset because the game was over, I was elated because the real game had just begun. For the entire life cycle of the Switch, Super Mario Odyssey was “the” game that you needed to get with the Nintendo Switch. While I don’t think that Donkey Kong Bananza reaches the same heights as Super Mario Odyssey, I feel confident that over the next seven years, when someone asks what is “the” game to buy for the Nintendo Switch 2, Donkey Kong Bananza will be the answer.
