A spin-off installment of the racing game series from Codemasters, which, contrary to the major installments in the franchise, puts emphasis on crazier, purely arcade, and much more spectacular gameplay. Some of its features, namely the Gymkhan mode, have already appeared in DiRT 3. In the game, we take part in a grand motorshow and compete in several game modes divided into three categories. The first one is traditional racing (Lap Attack, Eliminator, Domination), the second, the Hooningan’s challenges, involves breaking objects or performing various stunts. However, at the core of DiRT Showdown is the demolition mode where we compete in special arenas, and our task is to survive, while eliminating as many opponents as possible. Implementing new game modes, the developers took care of more spectacular damage model, thanks to which our vehicles spectacularly break apart during the competition.

Then, they moved on to other planets, with Earth becoming a location for various spectacles, including the Solar Redout Racing League – our character's bread and butter. The competition focuses on spectacular races of ultra fast anti-gravity hovercrafts, varied in performance and looks, that handle a lot like quad-copters. Each of the twenty racing tracks is scattered with power-ups such as shields, repair drones, or booster packs. Redout includes both a single player career mode, as well as multiplayer variant for up to 12 players. The game employs the Unreal Engine 4 technology, ensuring the visuals are high-quality. Additionally, the title supports virtual reality goggles, but they are not obligatory.

An arcade racing game which lets us take part in illegal street races in Japan, developed by independent JDM4iK studio. As its title suggests, Drift Street Japan focuses on the drift – a driving technique of performing a controlled oversteer for as long as possible. The players must collect points for drift by doing long and eye-catching slides, making turns close to obstacles or rapidly changing direction. This is varied by the presence of drag-type races for 1/4 of a mile, as well as typical racing competitions. Available cars include such brands as Nissan, Toyota or Mazda, each with different look, driving style and performance. There are also many tuning options, both visual and mechanical.

Futuristic jet ski racing game created by Vector Unit - the developers of the two previous installments, Hydro Thunder Hurricane and Beach Buggy Racing. Riptide GP: Renegade allows us to assume the role of a hydro jet (futuristic jet ski) driver. Banned from Riptide GP, the official racing league, the protagonists competes in illegal races. These are much more dangerous, as they take place on often unsafe, dangerous tracks, while the competitors also have to deal with the police. Hydro jets are able to achieve deadly speeds, jump more than a dozen meters at a time while executing spectacular stunts. As the game progresses, we receive new hydro jets, spending our hard-earned cash to upgrade them. Riptide GP: Renegade offers an extensive career mode, in which we compete in illegal races, fight bosses, and slowly make our way into the community. A multiplayer mode has been included, allowing for competitive races for up to eight players, as well as time attack challenges. All of this is complemented by attractive 3D visuals.

The fifth installment of the popular series of car racing simulators. The title was developed by studio Turn 10 which belongs to Microsoft. Similarly as the previous entries in the series, Forza Motorsport 5 allows the players to try themselves as drivers of super fast cars. There are more than 200 precisely modeled vehicles available in the game and one can use them to drive on 15 famous tracks, including Spa, Bathurst, Yas Marina and Circuit de la Sarthe. The game has a realistic driving model and control system that uses Kinect technology. What’s interesting, the developers cooperated with the team from the Top Gear TV series. It resulted in the commentary by Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May being featured in the game.

Project CARS 2 contains much more locations than its predecessor. There are more than 200 tracks to ride on by using various cars divided into 40 categories. The appearance and technical parameters of cars can be freely modified. The races take place in various single and multiplayer modes. The basic game mode is the single player campaign which can be played in cooperation with another player. Project CARS 2 also features online challenges and rankings.

The player is required to apply slipstreaming techniques, as well as to develop an advantageous pit-stop strategy. The experience is complemented by realistic driving physics and a polished system of car damage. NASCAR '15 offers decent-quality visuals.
