A 2.5D action adventure game that takes us to an alternative, retrofuturistic America of the 1980s. In Replaced we play as an artificial intelligence trapped in a human body who learns the dark secrets of dystopian Phoenix City.
Replaced is a science fiction action adventure game made as a side-scrolling platform game. It was developed by Sad Cat Studios and published by Coatsink.
Replaced takes us on a journey to the alternative version of America from the eighties of the twentieth century, to be precise - to the fictional Phoenix City. During the game we play as R.E.A.C.H. - artificial intelligence trapped against its will in human body. During the game we learn dark secrets of the dystopian metropolis.
Replaced is a side-scroller. Adventure leads us through various locations. We visit poor suburbs, neon-lit streets and gloomy interiors. Violence is the order of the day here, so during the game we often have to use forceful solutions. We eliminate enemies by fighting them hand-to-hand or using firearms and duelling with them in brutal but at the same time spectacular fights. The gameplay is varied by impressive platform sections.
The graphic design of the game Replaced was made in pixel-art technique. It looks pleasant to the eye, mainly thanks to the realistic lighting, smooth animations and detailed designs of the locations. The game takes place to the accompaniment of ambient soundtrack.
