Horizon Zero Dawn: To Curse the Darkness walkthrough, tips

This chapter contains a complete walkthrough for To Curse the Darkness mission. Here you will find advice that will help you to complete this quest in the best way possible.

The quest will appear in the journal directly after completing the mission Grave-Hoard. In the new mission Aloy will try to damage the Focus net in Sunfall so that she can get there without worrying about being detected.

First you should go to the place pointed by Sylens. Once you're nearby, you will receive further instructions. You must climb on the wall shown on the picture. The places where you can climb are directly in front of you. Use the fire camp and a cutscene will start after which the mission will be updated.

Your goal is to get to the cultist base. Follow the marker and after a while you will enter the area controlled by corrupted machines. Your priority is to reach the tree shown on the picture. Thanks to the handles on it you will be able to move forward. You can choose whether to risk a direct battle with the machines or sneak past them. The location is filled with bushes to which you can lure Watchers and eliminate them silently. You can also highlight the patrol route of the machines to sneak to the tree without using your weapon.

You will enter another closed area. This one is dominated by Scrappers. The principle is the same - sneak up or eliminate them silently. Follow the marker and you will reach the wall shown above. Climb on it to continue the quest and to see another cutscene.

Further in the mission you must find the head of a Tallneck and interact with the transmitter built in it. The cultists that protect the camp can be troublesome. If you use a decoy, you will easily eliminate all of them from the bushes in which you start the sequence. Remember to use Focus to target the enemies.

Pass through the bridge. eliminate the cultists that can be found there. In the tent you will find an armor that you must examine and some recordings for your collection. Stand near the cliff and you will find a tree. Push it and you will be able to use it as a bridge. Get to the other side.

Go directly ahead. You won't find any enemies there. Climb on the Tallneck and you will see another cutscene. Then you must run forward by using the rock handles. You will reach a camp filled with cultists. Fighting them is pointless. Keep running ahead while dodging the attacks.

Your objective is the point on the bridge shown above that will help you escape from the dangerous area. Watch out - if an opponent is directly behind you, he can throw you off the bridge before you manage to perform the action. If you see a blinking exclamation mark, then dodge on the bridge and use interaction after that.

You will see another cutscene and the mission will end. A new one will appear in the journal - Deep Secrets of Earth.
