Mass Effect Andromeda: Gil Brodie A Game of Poker / Gil Brodie The Friend

This section contains a walkthrough for two smaller tasks found in Mass Effect: Andromeda that are associated with Gil Brody, one of your crew members manning the Tempest. Completing both of these tasks will give you the ability to flirt with Gil and enable you to begin a relationship with him.

Note - Romancing Gil is an option available for male Pathfinder only. Sara Ryder can also engage in both of these quests, but these will only lead to a less affectionate union (i.e. friendship)

Gil Brodie: A Game of Poker

How to unlock: Speak with Gil and read the e-mail from him [Tempest].

Here you can find the guide for Gil Brodie: A Game of Poker quest. This is one of the side quests in Mass Effect: Andromeda game that belongs to the category called "Allies and relationships". This quest is connected with Gil. During the quest you can play a game of poker with him (this takes place on Nexus after you unlock the quest).

Unlocking the quest

Wait for an e-mail from Gil

During one of the conversations with Gil on Tempest he can tell you about his hobby, poker. The "official" invitation for a game with Gil appears in your e-mail box shortly after said conversation.

Meet Gil in Vortex

Go to Nexus and, when you get there, head to Vortex bar located in Nexus: Docking Bay. Speak with Gil and listen to SAM's message. You can ask the AI to help you read Gil's reactions which allows you to win easily or use your own skills (by doing that you will allow Gil to win).

If you defeated Gil you can tell him about SAM's help or lie to him and say that you won thanks to your skills. If Gil was the winner you can congratulate him or choose a flirting option.

Rewards for finishing the quest: XP.

Gil Brodie: The Friend

How to unlock: Read an email sent by Gil Brodie [Tempest].

This small event sees you visit Prodromos to talk with Gil. The meeting will offer you an ability to confess your feelings to him, which is a very important step if you are aiming for a romantic relationship with this character.

A new message from Gil

This small errand becomes available once you've managed to score a serious hit upon the kett forces during Hunting the Archon. Soon after your previous meeting, you should receive an e-mail from Gil Brodie, who invites you to a get-together between him and his female acquaintance.

Meet up with Gil and Jill in Prodomos

You are now able to state your feelings for Gil

Travel to Eos and find Gil, who is staying in Prodromos. If you are a male, and you've flirted with Gil before, you can attempt to engage in a more serious relationship ("I'm your guy") or simply end your acquaintance at a formal level ("Let's just be friends"). Moreover, you can try to kiss him (upper left dialogue option). Regardless of the chosen dialogue option, both of you will make your way to the landing pad to talk to Jill. The short introduction will end the quest.

Reward: Experience Points (XP).
