AC Mirage's Basim Seems OP, His 'Teleportation' Controversial

Assassin's Creed: Mirage gameplay footage has made a good impression on the players. However, one of Basim's abilities is questionable.

One of the stars of yesterday's Ubisoft show was Assassin's Creed: Mirage. In general, the presentation of the project was received very warmly, and many players appreciated the return to the roots of the series it offered. However, not all elements of the gameplay were appreciated.

  1. Doubts are raised by the ability enabling us to quickly eliminate several enemies. The player first marks them, and then the character instantly eliminates them one by one.
  2. The problem is that the assassin literally teleports between targets, which does not fit with the rather realistic nature of the game. In the commentary accompanying the gameplay, the developers state that the protagonist simply moves so fast, but in practice it looks like teleportation.
  3. Some consolation is that we won't be able to use this ability often, as it is supposed to require a series of stealth kills to be successfully executed first. The ability should therefore not make the gameplay too easy.
  4. Nevertheless, it looks somewhat bizarre. Fans on Reddit comment that it would have been a better idea to add a run-up animation to each target, and it's hard to disagree with these opinions.
  5. Other fans, however, speculate that this ability may be linked to some artifact of the Isu civilization, but this seems unlikely.

Assassin's Creed: Mirage is heading to PC, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5, as well as the Amazon Luna streaming service. It is scheduled for release on October 12, this year.
