AC Valhalla Steam Deck (Steam Edition) - Does It Work

In this article, we will try to answer the question of whether Assassin's Creed Valhalla works on Steam Deck.

Assassin's Creed Valhalla is a game in the Assassin's Creed series that allows the player to take on the role of a Viking. It is not a recent production, but is experiencing a renaissance with its release on the Steam platform. At the same time, however, several questions have arisen in the minds of players. Among others, about whether the game works on Steam Deck. We will try to answer this question.

If you want to learn more about the game itself, take a look at our guide, you can find it here.

AC Valhalla – Steam Deck

Unfortunately, if you're hoping for official confirmation on whether Assassin's Creed Valhalla runs on Steam Deck, you can't count on it for the time being. At the moment, the game has not been evaluated in this case on the Steam platform, however, it is possible that this will change soon.

Nevertheless, we also have some good news. Fan reports indicate that the game runs decently on Steam Deck (not perfectly). You should play the game on low to medium graphics settings (you can expect 50-40 FPS, depending on graphic settings), and expect occasional frame drops (sometimes even below 20 FPS). Also make sure you are running the latest version of Proton (the game is also stable on Proton Next). Good luck with your conquests!

It is also worth noting that the game may freeze when you first start it up. However, if you wait a few minutes, or reset it, everything should work properly. So if you see a black screen, don't panic.
