AC: Valhalla Will Enable Us to Change Hairstyle and Hair Color

There's some new information on Assassin's Creed: Valhalla, concerning, among others, the protagonist's abilities, side activities, exploration and appearance of the main character.

Some new details about AC: Valhalla.

IN A NUTSHELL:

  1. AC: Valhallawill enable us to change our hair color;
  2. One of the possible skills of the protagonist will be the ability to hold two-handed weapons in one hand;
  3. Exploration is to bring measurable benefits from the gameplay point of view - the parkour system was designed based on this principle.

More information about the latest installment of Ubisoft's flagship series of action adventure games - Assassin's Creed: Valhalla - appeared online. The reports concerns the protagonist's hairstyle, exploration and side activities. The information was published on Twitter and Reddit - its original source being Ashraf Ismail, the creative director of the game.

An information that many AC fans will probably enjoy is the fact that the game will offer an option to customize the hairstyle and hair color of the characters, as well as to choose tattoos or war paints. The number of options available is expected to be considerable - each player should be able to find a suitable creation.

We will be able to change the color of the hero's hair... or hide it under a hood.

Activities and abilities

Ashraf Ismail informed that AC: Valhalla will include the ability to wield two-handed weapons with one hand. However, he did not confirm whether we will be able to perform double stealth kills with the use of hidden blade - there will certainly be no lack of abilities to improve this element of the combat system, but the developer did not specify their character.

The creators put a lot of effort into ensuring that particular locations are characteristic and unique and that their designs are somehow translated into gameplay.

"So there's a lot of effort that has gone into the level design, where we have developed explicit purpose into whatever location or area we're trying to build. Yes, you can run on the ground and you can do whatever you need to on the ground, but if you decide to go up, you're going to see the value, see the advantage that you have. So a lot of effort has gone into parkour from that perspective.

This was kind of the early on reflection that we had, "ok, we built these open worlds, you can approach these worlds from many angles, many directions, but how do we give them intention, purpose, and make sure that this location is unique and memorable." This was a very early direction that we took, to make sure that the players time is valued, that you get to experience different things by exploring the world, that exploring the world itself is meaningful for narrative reasons but also for gameplay and experience reasons," said AC: Valhalla's creative director.

Ashraf Ismail also reported that one of the side activities in the game will be the so-called flyting - insult competition. This activity is to fit the character of the protagonist.
