Age of Empires 4 Beta Starts Tomorrow; Sign-ups Ongoing

Closed beta tests of Age of Empires 4 will begin tomorrow. It will be the first opportunity to play the next part of the iconic series.

IN A NUTSHELL:
  • Closed beta of Age of Empires 4 begins on August 5;
  • Signups have already started - they are conducted through the Age Insider website;
  • The beta will offer skirmishes against bots and live players.

It looks like Age of Empires fans will soon be able to take a break from the non-stop gameplay of the original trilogy to test the latest installment in the series. On August 5 a closed beta of the upcoming game will start. It will last up to 11 days. This will be the first opportunity to get an up-close look at Age of Empires 4. Sign-ups via the Age Insider website have already begun.

It is worth mentioning that this beta will guarantee a solid dose of content to test. As part of it we will be able to play the tutorial and participate in battles on multiple maps of different sizes. These clashes will be played both against AI and live players. We will also have eight civilizations at our disposal - England, France, China, Holy Roman Empire, Rus, Delhi Sultanate, Abbasids and Mongols. It will also be possible to watch other players' games.

Providing fans with such a large amount of content is to enable developers to comprehensively test the game. That said, the game's system requirements may stand on the way to try out the beta, as they differ from those that apply to the release version of Age of Empires 4. Details about them and information on signups can be found on the official website.
