Hot August in Warzone; Possible Reveal of CoD: Vanguard [UPDATED]

A handful of info and leaks regarding CoD: Warzone and its newest content surfaced recently. It is speculated that during battle royale's season 5 a new installment of the series will be announced - CoD: Vanguard. The names of new female and male operators and the appearance of one of them have also leaked online.

Update:

Today, some of the rumors have been confirmed. The official twitter account of Call of Duty reported that the new season of Warzone will begin on August 12 and will bring with it a new operator that we've already met through leaks.

Original news:

IN A NUTSHELL:
  1. Recent leaks indicate that along with the fifth season of Warzone the devs will announce Call of Duty: Vanguard;
  2. The new installment of the series is expected to be closely tied to the battle royale title;
  3. The fifth act of Warzone is also expected to bring a new female operator, Kitsune.

All signs point to a busy August ahead for CoD: Warzone. Rumors suggest that this is the month when the fifth season of Raven Software and Infinity Ward's battle royale is expected to launch. The next act of Warzone is expected to involve an unprecedented move - according to leaks, it is during the fifth season that the new installment of Call of Duty is to be revealed, which, if rumors are to be believed, is to be subtitled Vanguard. In this way, the developers intend to connect another game to their free-to-play title, in a similar way as in the case of Call of Duty: Black Ops - Cold War. This crossover is going to go even further, and leakers are already speculating that Warzone will receive a map based on CoD: Vanguard, with a World War II vibe.

There's currently no word on whether the announcement will take place at launch or during the fifth season. In fact, there's no news yet about when the new season will start. The most commonly cited date is the night of August 9-10 right after the end of season four. The latest season of Warzone is expected to bring with it a bit more. According to the leaker from Reddit, known as Nanikos, a new female operator named Kitsune is to appear in the game. She's supposed to come from Japan, and her appearance is depicted in graphics that are said to be from the promo materials.

The new operator is not shy about showing her face, unlike her predecessors.

The origin of the new character is said to suggest that the fifth season of Warzone will have a Japanese-Asian flavor - at least that's what Nanikos claims. In addition to Kitsune, two other characters: Kingsley and Surge (although these names may only be codenames) are expected to be added to the game over time. Further new features include a Tec-9 SMG wielded by the Japanese operator, as well as a new region in Outbreak mode called Weather Station.

Finally, there are also some leaks regarding future content of CoD: Cold War. One of the popular twitter insiders from Call of Duty - MW2 OG - revealed that Cold War will get 12 more maps, which will be systematically added in subsequent seasons.
