Work on Alan Wake 2 Said to be in Full Swing

Remedy's latets financial report suggests that the development of the Alan Wake 2 project has started in earnest.

Everything seems to indicate that Remedy finally got busy working on Alan Wake 2, a sequel to the action game from 2010. Such conclusions can be drawn from the latest financial report for investors.

The document contains a note that the project financed by Epic Games is currently "in full production". It is described as an "AAA game". The report did not reveal whether this is a sequel to Alan Wake's adventures, but a few months ago such information was shared by the usually very well-informed journalist Jeff Grubb from VentureBeat.

Let's recall that in 2019 Remedy regained rights to Alan Wake, so it is clear that the team will sooner or later undertake the development of a sequel. Since then, elements from the brand have appeared in Control 's AWE expansion, which confirmed that both productions use the same setting, and the developers announced that they will continue to develop this universe.

It is worth adding that recently users found mentions of Alan Wake Remastered in Epic Games Store's database. So most likely Remedy will remind players of the first installment before announcing the sequel.

The report also contained information that another, smaller project is in production. Most probably it's about Condor, a co-op action spin-off to Control. In addition, Remedy is currently conducting internal tests of another co-op shooter called Vanguard, which will use the free-to-play model. Work on it is said to progress at a good pace.

Next up is a big-budget sequel Control 2. This project, however, is only at the concept stage, so many years will pass before it is officially announced.
