All about Helldivers 2 on Xbox: Game Pass, cross progression and crossplay
Helldivers 2 was announced for Xbox Series X/S. Let's answer the most common questions about crossplay, cross progression and Xbox Game Pass.

Exclusives are less and less popular these days. Actually, only Nintendo sticks firmly to this concept. Other console giants – Sony and Xbox – are experimenting with releases on competitive platforms. Popular co-op TPS Helldivers 2 is a perfect example. Arrowhead and Sony’s production is coming to Xbox Series X/S. So, this is a good time to talk about the details like release date, cross-play and Xbox Game Pass subscription.

Helldivers 2 on Xbox – release date
Helldivers 2 will launch on Xbox Series X/S on August 26, 2025. If you are interested, you can pre-order the game on Xbox Store. It’s available in two versions – Standard and Super Citizen Edition.
It’s ironic, because Sony-exclusive title will debut at the same time as Gears of War: Reloaded (the legendary series straight from Xbox) will launch on PS5. This is the perfect symbol of changes in the gaming market.
Helldivers 2 on Xbox – crossplay and cross-progression
Helldivers 2 was initially released on PS5 and PC with cross-play support. The good news is that it was confirmed that Xbox Series X/S port will also allow us to play with people from other platforms.
Cross-progression, however, is a different story. Helldivers 2 doesn’t offer this feature on PC and PS5. So most likely, Xbox port also will follow this pattern. It means that you can’t switch platforms and keep progress. If you are eager to play on Microsoft’s console, you must start from scratch.
Helldivers 2 on Xbox Game Pass Explained
When any game is launched on Xbox, there are always questions about its presence on Game Pass. In this case, I don’t have good news. Helldivers 2 won’t be available as part of this subscription. The chances of this happening in the future don't look high either. This production isn’t even available on Sony’s PlayStation Plus.
