Today marks the release of Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora on PC, PS5 and XSX/S. James Cameron's movie saga enters the gaming market with a visually stunning title, albeit with familiar gameplay.
Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora will debut today on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. Ubisoft's new game and - seemingly - a dream come true for fans of James Cameron's movie series taking place on Pandora will soon be in the hands of gamers.
On PCs, the digital edition of the game will be available through the publisher's official store and Epic Games Store platform, console versions on Sony and Microsoft stores.
In addition to the standard edition, Ubisoft has also prepared two richer digital editions.
For fans of James Cameron's cinematic saga, the game's universe alone is incentive enough, but do casual gamers have anything to look for in it? Reviews so far indicate that Frontiers of Pandora is not a candidate for game of the year, but it's nevertheless a decent game.
The game impresses primarily with visuals (although at the price of high requirements; you can check them out below), but in terms of gameplay it's another clone of Far Cry, with all its advantages and disadvantages. Also, don't count on a plot that will sweep you off your feet - although mischievous people might say that it thus remained faithful to the cinematic original.
