Characters from The Division, Splinter Cell and Ghost Recon in One Game; Ubisoft Prepares BattleCat

Ubisoft's new game has been leaked online. It will combine multiple universes associated with Tom Clancy's name into one multiplayer game under the title BattleCat.

IN A NUTSHELL:
  • Leaks have surfaced online about Ubisoft's new game - BattleCat;
  • It will be a shooter focused on team PvP gameplay;
  • The characters in the game will be agents of groups known from series such as Splinter Cell, Ghost Recon and The Division.

It looks like we got to know Ubisoft's next project. Graphics and information about the game, provisionally named BattleCat, were published by Twitter user Zer0Bytes. Thegame will be an FPS, focusing on multiplayer battles. It will combine several universes associated with the name of Tom Clancy - Splinter Cell, Ghost Recon: Breakpoint and The Division.

The game will focus on the clashes of operatives from formations presented in the aforementioned titles. Each group will be characterized by a different set of skills, which will significantly affect the gameplay.

Echelon operatives (Splinter Cell) are scouts, who remain invisible on the minimap and can mark the positions of enemies for other team members. Wolves (Ghost Recon: Breakpoint) focus on durability - they have stronger armor, energy shields, and resistance to flashbangs. The Exiles and Cleaners (The Division) are versatile medics and fire damage specialists respectively.

We also already know about the two game modes that will be present in BattleCat. The first of these is Payload, which supposedly resembles the escort missions known from titles such as Overwatch or Team Fortress 2. Another is Ringleader, in which we'll have to collect rings dropped by the defeated opponents. The player who has the most rings will become the leader and his task will be to survive for 30 seconds. After this time the rings the player has collected will be added to the team's score.

Testing of the game reportedly began in January this year, and the game itself will appear on PC and consoles. Unfortunately, we don't know the release date. At this point we have to be patient even when it comes to the first official presentation. BattleCat will not appear at the upcoming Ubisoft Forward event.
