Please note, the following text contains spoilers about the plot of The Last of Us Part II, and by extension, the show based on it.
The screenwriters' strike continues in the United States. As a result, work on many movies and TV shows has been interrupted or has not started at all. Unfortunately, among the latter was the next season of The Last of Us. It is clear, then, that fans of the hit game TV adaptation have begun to worry about when shooting for the next episodes will begin.
Some reassurance come from the actress playing the role of Ellie, Bella Ramsey. The young actress recently gave an interview to Vanity Fair, in which she expressed her hope that the show's crew will appear on the set at the end of 2023. The star referred to the atmosphere of the second season of The Last of Us. According to Ramsey, the next episodes of the show will be darker than the previous ones.
"It will be darker. It's really a story about revenge and a continuation of the first season about the dangers of unconditional love," explained the actress.
People who had the pleasure of learning the plot of the original The Last of Us Part II, know that the revenge mentioned by Ramsey involves the character of Abby, who wants justice for the death of her father.
Will Ramsey's assurances come true and will we actually get such a dark show? We will only know the answer to this question when the second season premieres. Unfortunately, at this point it is difficult to determine when exactly this will happen. A few days ago, the head of HBO Drama, Francesa Orsi, revealed, that it should happen in 2025. However, everything will depend on how much longer the screenwriters' strike will last.
Recall that all episodes of the first season of The Last of Us is available on HBO Max.
