Capcom may be preparing to resurrect the Dino Crisis brand. After all, the publisher has renewed the brand's trademark registration in Japan.
The hearts of fans of the classic Dino Crisis series were filled with hope. Capcom has registered (in practice, renewed) the trademark of this brand in Japan.
Of course, this doesn't mean that the company is preparing to return to this series, but it definitely makes such a return more likely.
In 2018, Capcom registered the trademark for the Onimusha series. A year later, a remaster of the first installment launched in the form of Onimusha: Warlords, and in two months, a refreshed version of the sequel will be released. Meanwhile, the release of Onimusha: Way of the Sword, a completely new main installment of the series, is planned for next year. We can only hope that Dino Crisis is awaiting a similar renaissance.
At the end of the year, in a statement to investors, Capcom announced that the revival of dormant brands is one of its priorities. The result of this is both the aforementioned Onimusha: Way of the Sword, and the continuation of Okami. Dino Crisis is the top contender for a comeback from this publisher's extensive collection of classic series.
