„Casual” Diablo 4 player grieves about game and complains about loot. Community: „3-4 hours a night is very much not casual”

Does the reward system work well enough in Diablo 4? Many players say it doesn't. Other fans, on the other hand, consider it an unnecessary complaint.

Burnout is once again becoming a concern in the Diablo fan community. In addition to not feeling sufficiently engaged with the current version of the fourth installment (mainly due to the lack of new, engaging content), fans are now also complaining about the infrequency of rare loot appearing as a reward for their efforts.

Many of them feel that the chance of getting the desired item is not worth the amount of time spent grinding (3-4 hours a day, which is considered excessive by many casual players).

Out of 300+ drops, NOTHING. I only need the ancestral cache to finish the season requirement on the next to last page. I had yesterday off. All day tree cache farm. 32 Tree cache in a row. Plenty of chaos. No ancestral. I've read a ton of these stories on this sub, and now I'm one of them. Time to take a break. Im going to bed.

Where should Blizzard set the line and when does casual stop being casual?

What do the other fans think about this? Despite the general dissatisfaction with the current state of Diablo 4, they demonstrated considerable reasoning and a large dose of tact, arguing that balancing the game for such a diverse player environment (as well as their varying abilities and the amount of time they can devote to the game daily) is simply very difficult:

This isn't to belittle your frustration, which I understand and sympathise with. But it is indicative of how hard it is to balance a game around such wildly varying player expectations, where terms like ‘casual’ have such wide definitions as to be meaningless and the online / streamer culture creates an unrealistic view of what level of gearing should be considered 'normal.'

Getting upgrades to what you yourself say is already very good gear should be very difficult. If 66 boss runs was all it took to get a 2GA upgrade, a lot of players would be done in a day.

Some people are saying that the author of the post doesn't fit the casual standards, as these players don't care as much about obtaining ultra-rare items and upgrades. Instead, they focus only on having fun. The frustrated player seems to be stuck in a limbo between casual and hardcore gaming, unable to commit due to a lack of time.

At some point, he will probably have to compromise and come to terms with the fact that some things simply cannot be overcome - or move on to other, less time-consuming games. On the other hand, the loot drop rate in D4 seems to be really unbalanced. A good example is the case of a certain player a few months ago, who got two purple items in less than 24 hours, which, of course, caused envy in the community.
