Chrome Will Use Less RAM on Windows 10
The new version of Chrome browser will use less memory. Google's programmers will use a different way of managing RAM - the so-called SegmentHeap, known from Microsoft Edge.
MSPowerUser reports that the next version of Google Chrome browser for Windows 10 will consume less RAM than the current version, and may run a little faster. Google's programmers will use the memory management method used by developers responsible for Microsoft Edge (the so-called SegmentHeap).
How much RAM we'll get back will depend on our computer - Google programmers claims that thanks to this solution in some situations Chrome uses even several hundred megabytes less memory (in the case of Microsoft Edge, after implementing this technique, the demand for memory decreased by 27%). Interestingly, the update will bring the greatest benefits on machines equipped with "multi-core processors". (the number of cores is not specified).
