The popular strategy game Crusader Kings III will get a number of novelties this year. The largest of the expansions will take the player on a long journey through the kingdom.
Paradox Interactive, a publisher revered and mostly associated with its complex strategy games, has shared details of a new series of expansions for Crusader Kings III. Chapter II is a set of four DLCs expanding the game with additional content. Fans of medieval strategies who decide to purchase the set will receive access to the next parts of the set throughout 2023.
Already now, as a minor "appetizer", the developer has shared a small gift with the players. Constituting the first part of the set, Elegance of the Empire is a minor DLC/update, introducing a handful of cosmetic elements to the game. Inspired by the clothing of Emperor Henry II and Empress Kunegunda, the array of outfits will breathe some fresh air into the court closets.
In addition, enthusiasts of lavish beards will probably be happy to know that a new style of mustache-wearing has also been introduced to the game!
Elegance of the Empire is available exclusively for owners of Chapter II.
The main course of the new season pass for Crusader Kings III however, is the upcoming major expansion titled Tours and Tournaments.
Announced for May 11, this year, the DLC will focus on the topic of travels. The player's mighty lord, together with his entourage, will embark on a long journey through the lands he owns. In its course he will meet with his subjects and vassals.
One of the more interesting mechanics that will appear in the game on the occasion of the release of the new expansion is an advanced regency system.. To facilitate the management of the kingdom in absence, the player will be able to use specially appointed proxies, who will exercise authority over the designated area on his behalf.
The system of management and cooperation with regents is to be characterized by many customization options, and you can read more about the details in the developer's journal dedicated to the aforementioned feature.
In addition to mechanics related to the distribution of power, Tours and Tournaments will also introduce a range of additional content.
It is worth noting that some of the new mechanics will be introduced to the game in the form of updates also for those who choose not to purchase the latest expansion.
Just over a month away Tours and Tournaments will constitute the second part of the Chapter II bundle. Next in line is Wards and Wardens (with education and children's relations as its main theme) has been announced for the third quarter of this year.
Chapter II is available for purchase on Steam right now. The price for the bundle is $39.99 and it is, of course, only available to owners of the basic version of the game. All elements included in the package can also be purchased separately. In this case, for the main expansion Tours &; Tournaments we will pay $35.99.
Crusader Kings III is available on PC from September 1, 2020, with PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S versions having been release released last March. However, at the moment there is no exact information on the second season pass for the console versions.
