Musk Criticizes Lack of Autonomous Cars in Cyberpunk 2077

Billionaire Elon Musk clearly hasn't found Tesla's equivalent in Cyberpunk 2077. In a post on Twitter, the businessman expressed his opinion about the vehicles we'll find in the game, including Delamain taxis.

We wait in anticipation of patch 1.2 for Cyberpunk 2077. In this period the game continues to be commented on in the media - both traditional and social. Recently, a statement by Elon Musk - CEO of companies such as SpaceX and Tesla, among others - gained popularity on Twitter.

The mention of Tesla is not accidental, as the billionaire's post was specifically about the cars on the streets of Night City:

NOTE: The following may contain minor spoilers from Cyberpunk 2077.

In his tweet, Musk is most likely referring to the fact that despite the existence of taxis controlled by AI in the game world, from a gameplay point of view it doesn't matter at all, because apart from a few story missions we don't interact with them at all. Even later in the game, when we can get a Delamain taxi of our own, it's the player who holds the wheel, not the AI. We can console ourselves with the fact that maybe it's for the better, given the poor quality of the AI of the other drivers in Night City.

Tesla CEO's comment also hints that cars in 2077 should already be electrically powered. Perhaps Musk was looking for similarities between the vehicles from Cyberpunk 2077 and the cars produced by his company.

However, reading Musk's words accurately may not be easy. After all, the billionaire is known for his peculiar style of being and unusual sense of humor, which he displays on social media.

In the meantime, fans of CD Projekt RED's game wait for patch 1.2, delayed by a hacking attack in early February. The update is meant to fix most bugs and bring the console versions of the game up to par, so who knows, maybe Elon Musk will get an update introducing autonomous vehicles.
