Yesterday's presentation of Cyberpunk 2077 during Microsoft's conference on E3 2019 caused a powerful response on the stock market. The Money.pl website reports that the price of the CD Projekt increased within a few hours to a record level of PLN 233 per piece. Then, the price decreased by 10 PLN and is still fluctuating (currently you have to pay 228.30 PLN per share).

This stock valuation means that at its best, the studio was worth PLN 22.4 billion, making it the eighth largest company on the Warsaw Stock Exchange. According to experts, this position may soon improve even further - the game developers from the Witcher series may overtake giants of the banking sector, such as ING BSK and even Pekao.

According to analysts, in the first year since the premiere the game may reach up to 15 million players, and with time this number will increase to 33 million (in fact, the current interest in the title on Steam gives reasons for great optimism). For comparison, CD Projekt boasted last year the entire Witcher sold in similar volume since the first game.

The skillfully conducted marketing campaign is also significant - for example, one of the characters in the game will be played by a popular actor Keanu Reeves (known from the Matrix , or John Wick). It was him, who revealed the date of the release of the Polish superproduction, evoking a very enthusiastic reaction of the audience.

Polish gaming goes beyond CD Projekt

CD Projekt is not the only domestic company that can be proud about last night's events. During the Microsoft conference, developers from Bloober Team studio (known from Observer and Layers of Fear) also announced their new game - Blair Witch. The presentation of the title based on the license of the famous horror films increased the value of the shares of the Krakow company by 25%.

Cyberpunk 2077 will debut on April 16, 2020 on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. The game will be available in two editions - standard ($60) and collector's ($250).
