Cyberpunk 2077 Still Without Subway; CD Projekt Comments on Rumors

One of Cyberpunk 2077 developers addressed the rumors that a subway would be introduced to the game. Unfortunately, he quickly dashed the hopes of players.

IN A NUTSHELL:
  • Image found in Cyberpunk 2077 by one of the players has raised hopes of the fans;
  • Some considered it to be an announcement of the introduction of the subway;
  • Unfortunately, one of the developers from CD Projekt RED quickly dismissed these rumors.

Subway in Cyberpunk 2077 was one of the most ridiculed elements of the game after it appeared in the game's trailer only to be never seen again (unless in mods).

However, this does not mean that fans have given up with the lack of this means of transport. Some decided to take matters into their own hands.

Where the developer won't, the modder will

A mod named keanuWheeze decided to introduce a fully functional metro to the game on his own. We informed about his work in an earlier news..

The mod called Metro System added nineteen stations to the game, which enable us to travel through the Night City. Everything, of course, without loading screens.

The quality of the mod has made it very popular. So far it has been downloaded almost 37 thousand times on Nexus Mods.

Unfortunately, the release of update 1.5 made the mod incompatible with the game. However, there were rumors among fans that CD Projekt RED might be working on bringing an official subway to the game.

Cyberpunk 2077 still without subways and railroads

One of the players came across an interesting graphic during the game. It depicted the internet domain of the NCART company, which was most likely responsible for rail transport in Night City.

Over time, other fans rightly noticed that the graphic has been present in the game since its release. So most likely it is just a remnant of the developers' earlier plans.

Despite this, the information that the website is "under construction" raised the hopes of some players, who began to wonder whether CD Projekt RED is working on introducing the aforementioned element to the game.

Unfortunately, one of the developers of Cyberpunk 2077 quickly dismissed these rumors. Marcin Momot confessed that the studio has no plans to add a subway.

Players can only wait for the update of the aforementioned mod, adapting it to work with version 1.5 of the game.
