CD Projekt RED has announced work on a new screen project concerning the Cyberpunk universe. This time, however, it will not be an anime. The creators are betting on real actors.

CD Projekt RED is striking the iron while it's hot. After the big success of the Phantom Liberty DLC for Cyberpunk 2077 the studio has announced a partnership with Anonymous Content. The studio is involved in the creation of movies and TV show. Together, the two companies plan to create a live-action production set in the universe of Cyberpunk (vide CD Projekt RED).

Working with such an experienced label suggests that the movie or TV show could be a big success. Anonymous Content has been involved in the production of such blockbusters as Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Revenant, Mr. Robot, True Detective or Hayao Miyazaki's latest movie The Boy and the Heron.

The Cyberpunk universe itself also leaves a lot of room for possible stories. Last year, fans received a very good response to the anime Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, which significantly enriched the world of CD Projekt RED's latest game.

At this point, only the beginning of the collaboration has been announced and the search for a screenwriter is underway. Perhaps still by the end of 2023 there will be at least details of a possible plot or the first acting engagements. On the part of Anonymous Content, Garrett Kemble, David Levine, Ryan Schwartz and Bard Dorros and Charlie Scully are involved in the project. They will work with people from CD Projekt RED who were involved in the creation of Cyberpunk 2077.
