Cyberpunk: Phantom Liberty Was a Great Project That Achieved Great Sales

Over the past year, the number of copies of Cyberpunk 2077 sold has increased by 25%. We also know how much copies Phantom Liberty DLC has moved at this point and how much it cost.

The ongoing presentation, at which CD Projekt presents financial results etc. to investors, brought some interesting numbers related to Cyberpunk 2077 and its expansion, released last week, Phantom Liberty.

  1. The base game sold a total of 25 million copies. As figures from last year spoke of 20 million copies, 5 million copies of the game (both digital and boxed) have been moved over the past twelve months.
  2. In the first week after its release - which took place on September 26 - the sales of the Phantom Liberty DLC amounted to 3 million copies (including preorders). As shown in the chart below, the expansion was most often purchased on PC:

  1. Combining the above figures with those for The Witcher series, it turns out that in total CD Projekt Red has sold 100 million copies of its games.

We also learned that 3600 people were involved in the work on Pahntom Liberty, including "only" 350 developers from CD Projekt Red. The creation of the DLC cost about PLN 275 million (USD 62 million). In turn, PLN 95 million (USD 28 million) was spent on related marketing campaigns.
