Blizzard is preparing quite a few changes for the 2nd season of Diablo 4, which should please the players who are tired of strenuous grind.
We already know what Season of Blood and the accompanying update 1.2.0 will bring Diablo IV. Blizzard presented the most important information about them in a new post published on the studio's official website.
Two articles posted by the developer are basically a summary of yesterday's broadcast, during which Adam "PezRadar" Fletcher (deputy community director) and other developers discussed the upcoming changes. These, as promised, will be quite numerous.
Most of the changes presented by Blizzard are aimed at reducing grind, which heavily tired players in the first season.
In addition, the developers will reduce the need to return to the same locations in dungeons and perform objectives, introduce additional caches in cities, improve mounts and the interface, and reduce the cost of enchanting items. The full list of changes can be found in articles available on Blizzard's official website.
It should be added that this is still not a complete discussion of what's new in Season of Blood. Another "fireside chat" is scheduled for October 10, during which the developers will discuss details of the game's balance changes. This will include information on class modifications and damage resistance, but also in the acquisition of unique items.
So far, the reception of the announced changes is positive. Some players are still waiting for confirmation of fixes to affixes and items in general, but most Internet users agree that the developers are moving in the right direction (via threads on Reddit).
Nevertheless, it is possible to find some criticism aimed at the season itself. Some players (and streamers: via YouTube) were amused by the announcement of "new" mobs, advertised by... reskins of old friends. You can read more about the reception of Blizzard's announcement in our next post.
Season of Blood in Diablo 4 will launch on October 17. On the same day the game will hit Steam, although in the context of Overwatch 2's reception one may wonder if this is a good idea.
