Less than 2 days are left until the start of the first season in Diablo IV. Among the minor and major changes that will be introduced by the event, there is one that is sure to appeal to players who like frequent character switching.

Changes in item mechanics

Until now, the limitation in found items meant that characters at experience level 100, were able to find equipment only for similar, maxed out characters. This meant that a player who found an interesting item for another class had to spend arduous hours over a new character to be able to use the desired equipment at all.

The change originally announced on Twitter profile of Joseph Piepiora (the game's deputy director) is to lower item requirements related to character level. From now on:

  1. sacred items will require level no higher than 60;
  2. ancient items will require level no higher than 80.

The novelty in item scaling will make it much easier and faster for players who prefer frequent role changes to get the opportunity to don high-level gear.

However, the change will not work retroactively. This means that rare items found before the start of season 1 will not receive the new level requirements.

For the moment, the issue of high-level aspects remains a mystery. Currently, the addition of a high-level aspect can effectively raise the item level restriction. The premiere of season 1 will probably dispel doubts about potential adjustments on this topic as well.
