The action RPG Dragonkin: The Banished will hit the market next year. The title from the Eko Software Studio could be an interesting alternative to Diablo 4.

A few day ago, Nacon Connect took place, a special show of games from the French publisher. In addition to well-known titles such as Test Drive Unlimited: Solar Crown and Terminator: Survivors, there was also room for completely new titles. One of them is the isometric action RPG Dragonkin: The Banished.

From the game's site on Steam, we learn that the game will take us to "a world corrupted by the blood of dragons that have caused evil creatures to appear."

  1. Having chosen one of the four character classes (Barbarian, Witch, Knight, and Archer), we set out on a hunt to cleanse the land of terrifying beasts.
  2. An interesting feature is the ancestral grid, which is an "innovative mechanic" that allows you to adjust skills and abilities to your play style.

Acquire abilities as combat loot, and place them in the grid next to a wide range of modifiers. Optimize the placement of these elements to define your fighting style and become more powerful. Each hero has their own ancestral grid and endless combinations of abilities and modifiers.

  1. As the game progresses, players will also have the opportunity to develop their own city:

Upgrade your buildings and find new inhabitants, equipment and additional services, on your own or with other players. All the heroes in your city can be involved in its development and can unlock new content.

Dragonkin: The Banished will also allow you to play in local, two-person cooperation mode or online co-op with up to four people.

Dragonkin: The Banished will be released in February 2025. The game will be available on PC (Steam), PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S.

Although the game itself appears quite interesting, the track record of the Eko Software studio behind it may give rise to some doubts. In recent years, the team developed the average-rated action RPG Warhammer: Chaosbane (average score 69/100 according to Metacritic) and also created mainly sports series Rugby and Handball.
