Right now, many players try to play Ready or Not with people from different platforms. However, they can’t add their friends. If you are one of them, there is a solution to that, but you may not like it.
Ready or Not is not in the best place right now. It was review bombed after its release on consoles due to censorship. However, at least now you can play with friends from different platforms… right? Well… not exactly. It seems that many people have problems with adding their companions to the list. And it is not unexpected. Developers have announced it quite clearly, but many players don’t like it.
Players don’t like when they are forced to create additional accounts to play a game on a given platform. Do you remember the controversy with PSN account and Helldivers 2 on Steam? That was interesting… It seems that something similar is repeating itself now. However, this time developers seem to have a good reason.
So, if you want, you can play crossplay on any platform (Steam, EPIC, PS5 or Xbox). However, there is a catch. You will not be able to add and track friends from other platforms, due to different P2P solutions. Developers have come up with a fix, which is a little bit controversial for many.
Right now, if you want to add friends, you need to link Epic Account (don’t mistake it with Epic Games Store). It will allow you to track friends from PC and consoles alike. You can do that in-game:
This should enable adding friends from different platforms without further issues. Of course, remember to turn on crossplay in the Settings. You will see a popup the first time you open multiplayer menu. Leter, you can change your decision on the Gameplay Options (Settings available through the Main Manu). Just toggle Cross-Play on or off.
