This Elden Ring Enemy was Killed Most Often; Players Wonder Who Died the Least

An infographic from publisher of Elden Ring provided us with news about which opponent was eliminated most often in FromSoftware's game. Fans, however, started their own discussion about who died the least often at the hands of players.

Elden Ring is unquestionably one of the biggest hits of last year in video game industry. The game by FromSoftware rapidly gained a huge number of fans, among whom were even those who before Elden had no contact with soulslike games, pioneered by the Japanese developer.

No wonder, then, that every - even the slightest - news conveyed by the developers of Elden Ring about the game fires up its supporters and becomes a subject of debate.

Such was the case this time, too, and all thanks to an official infographic from the publisher, which became the starting point for a wider discussion.

These opponents have most often fallen at the hands of players

Publisher of Elden Ring, Bandai Namco, strikes the iron while hot, not letting soulslike fans forget about the game set in the universe of the Lands Between. The Japanese have released an infographic presenting a handful of stats from FromSoftware's latest creation.

The attention of the gaming community was particularly attracted by the section on defeated enemies. The data presented here was collected between February 25, 2022 and May 31, 2023..

  • According to the information contained in the official illustration, Elden Ring players have exterminated a total of as many as 197 billion opponents.
  • The most frequently defeated opponent in the period taken into account was the so-called Albinaurics, specifically those equipped with mace - 9.4 billion of them fell to the players.
  • In second place were Putrid Corpses (8.9 billion), and the podium was closed by Exile Soldiers - Crossbowmen (4 billion).
  • Further positions went to Albinaurics with curved swords (3.4 billion) and Demi-humans (3 billion).

The above figures did not particularly surprise the players, given that Albinaurics are found in many regions of the Lands Between (mainly in Liurnia), and in addition, they almost always move in big groups.

To make matters worse, representatives of the race have the "unpleasantness" of being part of the best place to "farm" runes (in-game currency) in Mohgwyn's palace.

Community curious about the least frequently killed adversaries

While the results from the official infographic were quite expected among those familiar with FromSoftware's game, fans have started speculating about the least frequently killed "common" opponents in Elden (via GamesRadar).

Here the discussion was heated, but in the end, most players pointed to... lobsters as the enemies that were least likely to die the least often at the hands of players.

As a fan of FromSoftware games, I find it hard to disagree with the majority opinion. Firstly, lobsters are quite a rare opponent, secondly, they are insanely demanding (especially those in the Leyndell dungeons) and finally, thirdly, defeating them does not reward the player with anything special, so fighting them is in the vast majority of cases "unprofitable".

"Lobsters. A gigantic waste of time."

"These enemies are not worth the runes and are, for me, one of the most dreaded enemies in the series."

  • On the podium of this list, in addition to the lobsters, according to the game's community, would certainly be the blue golem (see image above) from Dragon Barrows, which has a large number of life points and is placed on a rarely traveled route.
  • Also on the list would be such opponents as the rune bear, the exiled knights from Sol Castle and the birds from Mohgwyn's palace.
  • In my opinion and that of a few others in the Elden Ring community, you also mention the royal revenant, which is one of the most powerful common opponents in the game.

"It's so strange to me that this guy (the Blue Golem - ed. note) is in a random dead end, which is one of the hardest locations to find in the entire game, has a completely unique attack, 35,000 life points, is scaled to the late levels of Farum Azula and drops nothing."

Let's hope that the Elden RingDLC announced this February, Shadow of Erdtree, will bring more discussions like the one described in this news item.

Elden Ring is regarded as one of the best games of last year. The title debuted on February 25, 2022, and is available on PC, PS4, PS5, XOne and Xbox Series X/S.
