Elon Musk Believes We'll Pay in Cryptocurrencies on Mars

Billionaire Elon Musk recently stated on Twitter that the economy on Mars will be based on a cryptocurrency called Marscoin. This is not the first time that an inventor has spoken about cryptocurrencies.

IN A NUTSHELL:

  1. According to Elon Musk, in the future, Mars' economy will be based on cryptocurrencies;
  2. The billionaire recently considered investing Tesla's assets in bitcoin.

Elon Musk suggested on Twitter that the Martian economy will be based on cryptocurrencies when the planet is eventually colonization, which is probably not in the near future. The billionaire responded to a post of one of the Internet users, agreeing that the currency will be called Marscoin. Interestingly, a virtual coin with such a name has existed since 2014, but it is difficult to say whether the inventor meant it specifically.

The billionaire did not support his claims with any arguments, but his passion for cryptocurrencies is no secret - recently, while talking to business analyst and entrepreneur Michael Saylor on Twitter, he mentioned plans to investing billions of Tesla dollars in bitcoin.

It is worth remembering that Elon Musk often causes controversy and confusion with his plans and statements. Recently, for example, Starlink user regulations (for beta testing of the service) have come to light, stating that potential colonies on Mars will be treated by SpaceX as territory independent of Earth legislation.
