End of 20th Century Fox After Disney Changes Its Name

The Walt Disney Company has owned 20st Century Fox for some time now. The time has come for this media company to change its name.

Take a good look at this logo, because you won't see it in the cinema again.

Disney has long been consistently striving for complete dominance of the entertainment industry, especially on the film and television stage. For many years, attempts have been made to take over the entire legacy of Fox, until 2019, when around 71 billion dollars appeared on the table. The Walt Disney Company gained a lot of rights and IPs thanks to this move. For example, from now on, MCU movies may feature X-Men.

In January 2020, the studio went one step further and announced a thorough transformation of 21st Century Fox. It is, of course, about eliminating the "Fox" part, which is no longer relevant. It took a few months to deal with the complex legal process of removing the selected fragment from the name and for today we can say that 20th Century Fox does not exist in the form we have known to this day. Not only the name of the studio was changed, but also the name of the television studio, that is 20th Century Fox Television was transformed into 20th Television. Do you remember that big golden inscription showing before many a screening? It will never return to its original shape again.

Can these eyes lie?

Other companies also became victims of "rebranding". ABC Studios and ABC Signature Studios will merge into one ABC Signature studio. Moreover, Fox 21 Television Studios will become Touchstone Television. Craig Hunegs, CEO of Disney's television department, boasted of this milestone step:

"Our new studio names and logos mark a new day for ABC Signature, 20th Television and Touchstone Television while honoring their rich histories and the creative power of The Walt Disney Company."

20th Century Fox was founded in 1935 as a result of the merger of Twentieth Century Pictures and Fox Films. It existed in this form for 85 years, until now. This is Disney's next step towards monopolizing the market.

Then he interpreted Iranian dramas and the Joker, writing for cinematography journal, which, sadly, no longer exists. His writing credentials include a degree in film studies, but his thesis was strictly devoted to video games. He has been writing for Gamepressure since March 2020, first writing a lot about movies, then in the newsroom, and eventually, he became a specialist in everything. He currently edits and writes articles and features. A long-time enthusiast of the most bizarre indie games and arthouse cinema. He idolizes surrealism and postmodernism. He appreciates the power of absurdity. Which is probably why he also tried soccer refereeing for 2 years (with so-so results). He tends to over-philosophize, so watch out.
