Even Sony Doesn't Know the Price of PS5 Yet
An excerpt from the conference summarizing Sony's quarterly financial results suggests that even the Japanese company doen't yet know how much the PlayStation 5 console will cost.
There have already been several rumors on the web about the price of Sony's next console, the PlayStation 5. However, it seems that so far nothing is certain, as the Japanes company does not yet know how much the device will cost. The information appeared during the quarterly summary of Sony's financial results (via SpielTimes).
"Because we are competing in the space, it’s very difficult to discuss anything about the price at this point of time, and depending upon the price level, we may have to determine the promotion that we are going to deploy and how much costs we are prepared to pay.
It’s a balancing act it’s very difficult to say anything concrete at this point of time. We want to achieve the best balance so that we will be profitable in the life, during the life of this product," said Hiroki Totoki, chief financial officer of the Japanese company.
It seems that the price of the PS5 remains a great unknown not only to players but also to Sony employees. In fact, there is nothing strange about it - it usually takes quite a long time to reveal such details. The Japanese certainly want to adapt their offer to the competition's proposals and are probably still hesitating as they wait for what Microsoft will say about the price of the new Xbox.
We would like to remind that both ninth generation consoles will appear on the market during the holiday season this year.
