The Race To The Bottom mod has been released, enhancing Fallout: New Vegas with a new adventure comparable in size to some official DLCs.
Three months from now Fallout: New Vegas will celebrate its twelfth birthday, but this oldie still boasts a very active modding community that regularly provides us with fresh experiences. The latest such project is the mod called Race To The Bottom, which offers an extensive fan-made adventure, comparable in size to that of the Automatron expansion for Fallout 4.
The plot begins when a cooperative in Freeside is robbed by unknown perpetrators. Ella Hawthorne decides to hire a mercenary (that's us) to discover the identity of the thieves. The adventure is elaborate, and the creators modeled it on the best missions created by Obsidian. During the game we have to cope with a series of problems, all of them have several alternative solutions, and the whole thing places great emphasis on role-playing.
Installation of the mod is simple. Just extract the archive with it to the "Data" folder and activate it in the launcher. Just make sure that you select all elements of the mod in the launcher, i.e. both "RaceToTheBottom.esm" and "RaceToTheBottom - Vanilla NPC Changes (Required).esp".
The Detterent Mod
It is worth mentioning at the end that the creator of Race To The Bottom previously released another mod with a major new adventure, titled The Detterent. In it, the player character becomes embroiled in a war between the Brotherhood of Steel and the remnants of the Master's army.
