First reviews of Haven, an independent RPG developed by The Game Bakers, appeared on the web. It seems that we're dealing with a decent game, whose greatest assets are interesting characters and atmosphere.
IN A NUTSHELL:
Yesterday, Haven debuted on the market - an RPG with adventure elements created by The Game Bakers studio, which emphasizes a two-player co-op mode. The title is available on PCs and PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X / S and Nintendo Switch. There are already a lot of reviews of this work online.
According to reviewers, Haven is a successful production. Unfortunately, in some areas, the game is a bit too repetitive. Experts appreciate the well-portraited pair of protagonists, charming setting and solidly designed mechanics. At the same time, some people indicate that the production is a bit repetitive, sometimes boring and certainly will not revolutionize the RPG genre.
"Haven is a charming and unusual sci-fi RPG about love prevailing above all else, although between its thrilling gravity boot rides and respectable combat are long spans of monotonous resource gathering and clean-up," writes Kyle Campbell from IGN.
"Haven finds a groove in its exploration and character-building, but the combat and big narrative beats throw it off," Joe Juba, Game Informer.
"The endearing love story and vibrant art style of Haven can't save it from being a derivative and forgettable RPG adventure," Camilo Olmedo, DualShockers.
On Metacritic, the game currently has an average rating of 66-79% (depending on the platform, the worst rating is held by the PlayStation 5 edition). On OpenCritic, the title performs quite similarly (average 75%, with 76% of reviewers recommending it).
