Forspoken Demo Now Available; First Player Reactions [UPDATE]

Early next year will see the debut of the intriguing game titled Forspoken. But before that happens, players can familiarize themselves with the demo version. What kind of reception has Square Enix's new work met with?

Update

The ad campaign for Forspoken is kicking in the high gear. The result is the latest extensive gameplay, which has been published on the official YouTube channel of PlayStation. The more than 11-minute video is a combination of gameplay footae and an appearance by Ella Balinska, the voice actress who plays Frey Holland, the main character of Square Enix's game. See for yourself.

Original message

The next year will bring us, gamers, many interesting titles to play. Among them is Forspoken, an action RPG from Square Enix. As the release of the title is approaching, the developers have released a demo of the game via the PlayStation Store. Those who are interested in the item can test it before deciding whether to purchase the full version. The developers - in turn and in response to community feedback - will have a chance to make final adjustments before the January debut.

As expected, the web was quickly flooded with comments from players who tested the new action RPG. Aside from a few minor pain points noted, such as the too-small font of the game's menu subtitles and the not-so-intuitive controls, the overall impressions of those who played are remarkably positive. Among the many reviews, the most common praise can be found for Forspoken's visuals.

Here are some sample comments from players on Twitter.

"I'm just now playing the demo. I LOVE the game. If I had to point out something negative, it would be the frame rate in 4K and ray tracing modes. I know it's a demo, so I hope you will fix this "problem" before the full version is released," writes AguPoe et al

"I have to say that I didn't like the way the game looked before. Now that we have a demo and I have played it, I think I will buy it. More developers should do demos because sometimes we don't know what the right game will be for us if we don't check it out. I have to say that I like it," notes pacman

"The demo proves exactly why this is one of my 6 most anticipated games of 2023. Thanks! I'm looking forward to it," praises The Monarch Maestro!

The player also included some screenshots from the game's photo.

It is also worth mentioning that the appearance of Forspoken's demo was accompanied by an atmospheric trailer. Given that not long ago the work of Square Enix was an object of derision among the gaming community (you can read more about it here), it is surprising that reactions after the release of the demo version of the title have made a U-turn.

Forspoken will debut on January 24, 2023. The game will be available on PC and PlayStation 5 consoles.
