GeForce Now Introduces Demos and Adds 6 New Games to Library

The GFN streaming service has a new tab with demos. From now on users can check out selected titles before buying them, and premium subscribers can test the RTX technology in some of them.

IN A NUTSHELL:
  1. GeForce Now now features a tab with demos that can be run directly in the app or on a dedicated page;
  2. The database at the moment includes seven games, including Ghostrunner and The Riftbreaker: Prologue. The library of demo versions is to be constantly expanded;
  3. Priority or RTX3080 subscription users can test the RTX technology in select demos.

GeForce Now - a cloud-based gaming service - introduces the ability to test games before you buy them. We're talking about demo versions to help users decide whether to make the purchase. At the moment we can find seven titles in the dedicated tab, but there are plans to add more items.

GFN with option to test select games

  • The streaming service from Nvidia does not offer game sales, so before launching a given title, the user is forced to purchase it from one of the popular platforms (Epic Games Store, GOG.com, Steam etc.). The new feature enables users to launch demos directly from within the app or on GeForce Now website, making it easier and faster to get into the fun.
  • Currently, as part of the new feature, users can test games Chorus, Ghostrunner, Inscryption, Diplomacy is Not an Option and The Riftbreaker: Prologue, as well as the finalists from last year's Epic MegaJam tournament, namely Boti Boi and Microwasp Seekers. The aforementioned versions are available as part of the free plan.
  • In addition, subscribers with Priority or RTX3080 subscriptions can also check out how RTX technologies work (such as ray tracing in Ghostrunner).
  • According to the announcement more items are expected to appear in the new option in the near future. However, I would not count on the fact that GeForce Now's demo pool will overlap with the library of full versions. For many developers this form of presenting their works has become a relic, which is time-consuming to prepare, and the resulting effect is often different from the final version.

New Games in GeForce Now

Finally, it is also worth mentioning that the library of the service has expanded this month by six more items. We are talking about Die After Sunset, Elderborn, Offworld Trading Company, Spirit of the Island (all on Steam) and Northgard and Tunic (both from Epic Games Store).
