GTA 5 Enhanced „mixed” reception isn't the only reason why the Legacy version is still played by many
Grand Theft Auto V Enhanced has scored a rough start on Steam. Many people have decided to stick with the old version of the game for now. However, the technical issues of the refreshed edition aren't the only reason for these decisions.

The day before yesterday, Grand Theft Auto V Enhanced was released on PC, which is an updated version of the hit from Rockstar Games studio. It didn't replace the original GTA 5 (GTA 5 Legacy), and both versions operate concurrently and receive support from Rockstar Games. This gives us the opportunity to compare how the refreshed version fares against the original.
GTA 5 Enhanced issues
Most players have already decided to switch, but many people still remain with the old version.
- Yesterday's activity record for Grand Theft Auto V Enhanced on Steam was 157,463 players playing simultaneously, while for GTA 5 Legacy it was 120,423.
- However, the reception of the refreshed edition is much worse. On Steam, it has only 49% positive reviews, while the old version has 82%.
- Such a poor reception of the Enhanced edition is caused by its poor technical quality. Its performance is also worse, which isn't surprising, but the issue is that many players found the visual improvements to be rather modest.
- There were also problems with the update in the Epic Store Games (where the community is very large, because many years ago the game was given away for free there), but they have already been fixed.
The problems with GTA 5 Enhanced aren't just due to technical shortcomings.
But it's not only that which leads so many players to choose to stick with GTA 5 Legacy.
- This is a title from ten years ago, so a large part of the community has pretty weak rigs, which won't be able to handle the Enhanced edition.
- FiveM mod also doesn't currently support Grand Theft Auto V Enhanced, which is the foundation for all popular RP servers. The creators of the modification are already working on an update, but until its release, people who prefer role-playing in Rockstar's virtual world instead of the classic GTA Online must stick to the Legacy edition.
Over time, most of the community will probably switch to Grand Theft Auto V Enhanced. This trend can already be seen, as the day after the launch, this edition was less popular than the old version, but it has since overtaken it.
